Once and Twice_Part 1

I. October 2011

Leaving the lights on, Jane didn’t notice she already fell asleep while watching the tv . It was past 10 o’clock in the evening and she woke up with her phone ringing. Feeling dizzy and all, she answered the phone, “Hello. You’re coming over? Okay I’ll prepare the books. But I’m not properly dressed up!” Surprised and wanted to fix herself right away, she just changed her top into a colored green printed shirt. Never mind the polka-dot shorts she was wearing, she didn’t really care how she looked like that night. She brushed her hair and practiced smiling.

After a few minutes, she went out of the apartment and went to see her friend with her cousin. Jane shook hands with her friend’s cousin, Mark, and gave him a sincere smile. Then after they went back to the pad and shared a few laughs.

“Those 30 minutes were the start of it all”, Jane shared with a smile.

Her patience, trust in love, in relationships, and in God, was developed for she loved a seafarer.

One Republic – Secrets

I need another story
Something to get off my chest
My life gets kind of boring

Need something that i can confess

Till all my sleeves are stained red
From all the truth that I’ve said
Come by it honestly I swear
Thought you saw me wink, no, I’ve been on the brink, so

Tell me what you want to hear
Something that were like those years
I’m sick of all the insincere
So I’m gonna give all my secrets away
This time
Don’t need another perfect lie
Don’t care if critics ever jump in line

I’m Gonna give all my secrets away

My God, amazing how we got this far
It’s like were chasing all those stars
Who’s driving shiny big black cars

And everyday I see the news
All the problems we could solve
And when a situation rises
Just write it into an album
Singing straight to cold

I don’t really like my flow, no, so

Got no reason
Got no shame
Got no family
I can blame
Just don’t let me disappear
I’ma tell you everything

All my secrets away (x2)

My heart is filled with joy
With just the thought of being with you.
The sea, the sky and mountains high,
Won’t break our trust and love should they try.
At times when loneliness floods our hearts,
Angels smile on love tested though apart.

After six semesters of working and studying a masters degree at the same time, I realized two nega things:

1. Nakakapagod; at

2. Nakakasawa.

That’s why I am yet again trying to motivate myself to do one final requirement for me to complete this course –> my field study. I need all the motivation I could get as I am about to hit a lot of targets for these last two months of  2011:

1. Two Station-based Studies.

2. Two supplemental reports for Give Me Five Bohol and Palawan Projects

3. Data Validation for Give Me Five Romblon, Palawan, Bohol which would consume at least 3 weeks travel time in December

4. Field Study Outline for November and Data Gathering on December

5. Online teaching racket as i am to pay a looooot of bills!

🙂 Gora. Kaya ko toh!

A cup of tea please?

I drink tea for various reasons. One is to cleanse my system, another one is to relax my mind. While I’m again in a rush to come up with a policy paper for my DM 220 class, I can’t help but drink a warm cup of tea and a lot of unnecessary stuff (like checking my emails or by writing this short blog). Drinking tea and doing other things other than writing my paper warms up my body and brain.  This can be an excuse for procrastination. Nonetheless, still a good excuse. 🙂

When September Ends

It took me some time before I was able to write again. Yes, my work and acadamic life have been nonstop. The whole of August was devoted in preparation for my comprehensive exam last August 23 and 24. I had very memorable moments. I remember two important things I have learned whilst undergoing the hell weeks:

First is the discipline that one can strengthen when one is determined in achieving a goal. Reading and processing of ideas consume a lot of calories, too. Meaning, the review was no laughing matter. One needs a lot of focus. And you need all the positive vibes to help you out. Second is the nurtured relationships with your friends/compremates’. This one gets you motivated and inspired which also gives you a sense of belongingness.  One cannot live  alone. Teamwork was there. And would still be there whatever the results were.

At last, the scores were finally out last Sept 19. And I have all the major credits given to the Lord. He’s my Saviour. My Teacher. Topping the exams would have never been possible if trust in Him was nowhere.  Bliss. Only a few knew of the struggle that I have been to.  And I would like to thank those special people in my life who cheered and believed in me and for those who suffered by this inconvenience. Gracias.

What better way to share the exam experience? Through a good meal paired with laughs with the girls. Moments like these are memorable ones as everyone has her own busy bee lives.
